2. What is the License Plate Recognition (LPR) Parking System?
The LPR Parking System uses LPR-enabled cameras to automatically capture and recognise vehicle registration numbers upon entry and exit from the car park. The system records the entry and exit times of vehicles, facilitate the calculation of the applicable parking charges and payment processing, and enables a seamless ticketless parking experience.
For operational, security and parking management purposes, the system may also collect, process and retain vehicle images, transaction records and other related information in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
3. How does the LPR Parking System work?
The LPR-enabled camera automatically scans and captures the vehicle registration number as the vehicle approaches the entry barrier. Once the vehicle registration number has been successfully recognised and recorded, the barrier will automatically open to allow the vehicle to enter the car park.
When the vehicle is at the exit lane, the system will recognise the vehicle registration number and retrieve the corresponding entry record. Where a matching entry record is found, the applicable parking charges will be displayed.
Upon successful payment, the exit barrier will automatically open to allow the vehicle to leave the car park.
